Mamibot W120-T Review

Mamibot W120-T is one of the cheapest, quietest, fastest and best performing window cleaning robots. Read further to find out why!

Mamibot W120-T Specifications

This is a square shaped robot with dimensions of 9.8. x 9.8 x 3.9 in. (25x25x10 cm.) and weight of 1350 grams.

This is one of the most silent window cleaning robots I’ve tested so far. They claim it to be less than 65 dB and I’ve got 62 dB when measuring it from 3.3 ft. (1 meter) away.

W120-T has an AI smart cleaning, which choses the fastest cleaning path. Which actually works, not like with some other robots. It takes 2.5 minutes for the robot to cover 3.3 sq. ft. (1 square meter).

There are two pairs of cleaning pads. One is for dry cleaning or dirty windows; another one is for light dirt or wet cleaning.

The robot has Z and N type of cleaning patterns. It allows you to choose either one or both at the same time for better cleaning.

Power cord is around 6 meters long in total. From the wall socket to the power brick there is 3.3 ft. (1 meter) and then another 16.4 ft. (5 meters) from the power brick to the robot.

As all of these types of robots, it has a backup battery which will keep your robot stuck to the surface in case of AC power loss for up to 20 minutes.

There’s a safety rope with a buckle, that acts as a safety measure in case of robot losing suction and falling off the surface. The length of the rope is 14.8 ft. (4.5 meters).

This robot can be used on multiple different surfaces: windows, bathroom glass, marble wall, ceramic wall, mirrors and such.

How to operate Mamibot W120-T?

Operating this robot is very easy and you have three different choices on doing so.

First one is the start/stop button on the robot itself. Long press of the button turns it on/off, and short presses (when the robot is turned on) will either start the work or stop it.

Second one is the remote control, which gives you more freedom, since you can manually move the robot around or choose one of three different cleaning methods.

Lastly, you can download the iGLASSBOT phone app, which allows you to control the robot as if you used the remote control. Sadly, this app is just for controlling and it won’t send you notifications of finished task or an error.

This app looks pretty outdated and wasn’t updated in years. But it works.

How to use Mamibot W120-T for the best cleaning results?

Yellow cleaning pads are used for dry cleaning and/or when there is a lot of dirt.

Gray cleaning pads are used for wet cleaning and/or when there’s not a lot of dirt on the surface.

That being said, for the best results, first use the yellow cleaning pad with Z+N cleaning path. After that is done, change the yellow pad to the gray one. Spray some cleaning solution on the thicker sides of the gray pad and run the Z+N cleaning path again.

If you’re trying to use this on really dirty surfaces, you might need to use one pad or another more than one time.

Mamibot W120-T Cleaning Performance

As with most of the robots, on every surface, the weak spot of this robot is the edges and small part of the corners. For the best performance I use Z+N cleaning path, but by doing so it takes double the time to complete the tasks.

Windows Cleaning

As long as there are no stains that would require some hard push rubbing this robot should take care of the task without a problem.

I’ve tested this robot on my own windows, and the only spots it missed were something that would require me to scrub hard.

As long as there are only dust, fingerprints and similar stains, this robot will take care of the job. At least it did for me.

But if there are dried raindrops, bird poop or anything even harder, then it might not clean it well. Or it would require more than two cleaning passes on the window.

This robot is ideal to keep your windows clean by running it regularly, rather than removing serious dirt by just using it once or twice a year.

Mirrors Cleaning

I’m very happy with its ability to clean mirrors. If the mirror has dust and fingerprint stains (that’s the most common dirt on the mirrors in my house) first run the dry cleaning using the yellow pads, then run a wet cleaning using gray cleaning pads.

Once the robot finishes cleaning the mirror for the last time, be sure to wipe the spot where you took the robot off the mirror.

By doing so my mirrors are actually kind of spotless.

Glass Walls with Cracks

Do not use this robot on walls that have cracks, because this robot doesn’t detect it and doesn’t have enough suction when it is on the crack and it will just fall.

Marble Wall Tiles

This robot can be used on marble, ceramic and similar wall tiles. It has no problem climbing up, but cleaning performance will depend on the type of dirt on these tiles.

Most likely it will be older stains that are quite hard to clean even manually with a scrub, so this robot will not help you there.

But in case those stains are fresh, there’s a good chance it will be able to clean it.

Frameless Glass Walls

They warn you not to use it on frameless glass.

I have a glass shower wall that doesn’t have an edge frame, so I tested the robot on it. It was able to do the job, but it wouldn’t clean the glass very close to the frameless edge.

I have also tried to clean the glass on my railings, but the glass there doesn’t have a frame on the top and bottom. The robot was unable to do the job as it would constantly stop the task once reaching the bottom.

Mamibot W120-T Flaws?

Sometimes, very rarely though, the robot will keep cleaning the bottom edge back and forth without stopping. Feels like it is getting into some kind of a loop.

The frame has to be steep, otherwise the robot might climb on it and fall off.

Mamibot W120-T doesn’t always finish the task in the same spot as it started. So be sure to have a remote or an app with you in case you wouldn’t be able to reach the robot.

Review Summary

Given its price point this is a very good choice. I love how quiet it is, how fast it is, and I’m really impressed with the cleaning performance compared to other robots.

This is a perfect window cleaning robot for windows, but can also help you out with mirrors, marble/ceramic wall tiles and bathroom glass.
